A small number of things, done properly

Every service below is something a barber here does forty times a week. If it is not on this list, we will tell you honestly whether we can do it.

Cuts & fades

Every head shape, once

Scissors where scissors make a better result, clippers where they do not. All of it finished with a mirror check from every angle before the cape comes off.

The Signature

Cut and finish, washed and styled. The one everybody comes back for, and the reason most people never look anywhere else.

The Foundry Fade

Skin faded to the bone, weight through the middle, sharp razor line-up. Ask for Ines if you want it sharp rather than soft.

The Wingback

Quiff, part and volume, hand finished on a straight blade and blow dried with a brush. Clipper work on the back of the neck only.

The Longside

For the six weeks you did not get to it. Tidy on top, sides left to grow, no lecture about the gap in the schedule.

Dried first, cut dry second. Weight taken off the top so the shape holds its own, sides shortened to keep the profile readable.

Straight razor, two passes

A hot towel shave takes forty minutes and most of it is quiet. It is the single thing people mention when they recommend this shop, so it is the single thing we do not rush.

The Hot Towel Shave

Hot flannel, lather worked in by hand, one pass with the grain and one against, then a styptic block and a cold towel. No music, no talking, no rush.

Beard Sculpt

Shape, taper and a hot towel to open the skin, finished with a little oil. Length kept, lines tidied. Add it to any cut or have it on its own.

The Royal Treatment

Shave, clay mask, steam and a proper shoulder massage. Ninety seconds where nobody asks you a single question.

Extras

Colour, kids, and things you can bolt on

Grey blend

Two shades matched in daylight by the window rather than under the warm bulb above the chair. Cut first, colour second, and nobody at work can tell on Monday.

Little lads

Twelve and under, and a grown-up has to stay in the room. That is the only rule, and Milo has a sticker chart for everybody who sits in chair four.

Tonics & scalp work

Scalp scrub in sea salt and eucalyptus, styling with pomade or sea salt spray, and a proper blow dry. Take the product home, too.

Ask for a number, not a style

“Give me a three” means far more than “short sides”, and everybody in the shop will know exactly what you mean.

What actually happens in the chair

    You say what you want changed

    Not what you want kept — what you want changed. Barbers understand that better than anybody. It is the fastest route to a good cut.

  2. 02

    We wash, cut and check

    A proper wash, a cut with scissors wherever scissors make sense, then a mirror check from every angle before you leave the cape.

  3. 03

    Tweaks are free, always

    Something an inch out? Say so while the cape is still on. After you leave the chair, it costs you another visit and we both know it.

  4. 04

    We write it in the book

    Guard number, blend, the lot. Next time you walk in, the next barber in the queue already knows.
